Prayers, Supplication and Intercession

 I was doing some Bible Marking today about prayer. If you aren’t familiar with Bible Marking check into it at “Come Fill My Cup” blog.

I understood the verse I was reading but wanted to go a little deeper.

1 Timothy 2:1
I exhort therefore, that, first of all, supplications, prayers, intercessions, and giving of thanks, be made for all men;

 Exactly what is the difference between prayer, supplication and intercession? Google to the rescue.

     Prayer
  • A solemn request for help or expression of thanks addressed to God or an object of worship.
Supplication
  • The action of asking or begging for something earnestly or humbly.
Intercession
  • The action of intervening on behalf of another.
 Not sure I ever really picked up on the differences between these three.

 A simple lesson for me today, but made me more aware of my prayers.

 Hope it helped you.
 May God Bless
